CubaDupa is as a vibrant street festival revering the epic creative spirit of Cuba Street and the Wellington community. Showcasing over 120 acts and over 250 performances on a summer weekend, it transforms Wellington’s most iconic street into a magical playground of delight, sound and taste.
CubaDupa strives to be the most extraordinary outdoor arts festival in New Zealand. It attracts over 100,000 people from all walks of life and around the country to ‘get on up’ during the day and ‘get on down’ in the evening. The line between performer and audience becomes blurred in this immersive experience as people dress-up, join in workshops, follow parades and dance in the city streets.
International acts mix with our world-class local talent to present a stunning free event. Restaurants spill into the streets to create a culinary cacophony; people flow through the pedestrianised roads and laneways, exploring the myriad of spaces filled with activity, music, dance, theatre and installation.
Drop by The Glover Stage Supported By Radio Active on Sunday. Active’s own Shady from The Americana Show will be hosting the day.
