In 1999 Georgina Beyer became New Zealand’s first openly transsexual Mayor and Member of Parliament, She is an Author, Actress, Activist and former Sex worker. Ms Beyer has been asked to address the Oxford Union an enormous privilege formerly afforded to David Longey, Helen Clark and more recently Dame Catherine Healey of the Prostitutes collective. Here Maggie chats to Georgina about Identity politics, resilience and her long battle with renal failure.
