The Wednesday Night Jam on Radio Active is New Zealand’s longest running Hip Hop show.

The show originally started in 1983 under the name The Uncut Funk Show with Mark Cubey and DJ Tee Pee then changed it’s name to the Wednesday Night Jam with Mark Cubey and Rhys B.
There have been many Wellington Dj’s that have hosted the show in past years and even today there is a strong roster of Dj’s keeping the flame burning. With a wide range of musical styles that is played every Wednesday night from 8-11am the listener is always in for a surprise whether it is an old track that sparks a memory or a brand new release, news of upcoming gigs etc or even a local rap artists demo to live in studio freestyling, you never know what you will get with The Wednesday Night Jam on Radio Active!
