Marita Hewitt’s exhibition This Moment Has No End opens at Page Blackie Gallery on Thursday 4 July at 5.30pm. Hewitt’s practice is underpinned by an environmentally conscious ethos, and a sensitive and meticulous approach to materials and processes. Her delicate works in watercolour on handmade paper explore the syntax of waste, and offer poignant insights into the artist’s life. This exhibition sees Hewitt working with household fabric waste, transforming timeworn bedsheets, duvets, cloths, and tea towels into beautiful rag paper upon which she paints. This Moment Has No End runs until 27 July.
Page Blackie Gallery is at 42 Victoria Street in Wellington. They are open Monday to Friday, 10am to 5.30pm, and Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
