Come down to the Wellington Waterfront and experience Ahi Kā, a celebration of the Māori New Year with fire, kai, friends and whānau, this July.

Witness some of Aotearoa’s finest Māori performers and storytellers, as well as audio-visual art installations, fire braziers and more.

Celebrate Matariki with the family for a time of reflection, remembrance, and renewal.

Ahi Kā – happening on the Wellington Waterfront on Friday July 2nd and Saturday July 3rd. 5 to 8:30PM. Entry is free.

Wellington Harbour will light up once again under the dazzling array of

Matariki fireworks, this July.Turn up early with the whānau to grab a spot and a bite from one of the many food trucks along the Wellington Waterfront.

Experience the magic of the Māori New Year with the Matariki Fireworks on Saturday, July 10th. Fireworks start at 6:30PM.
