Same Name Confusion – ESP (Telepathy) Tour

Friday August 7th, Meow, Wellington

Pōneke alt-rock outfit Same Name Confusion will perform four shows across Aotearoa in support of their new single ESP (Telepathy). This is the band’s first release since their acclaimed debut EP In Theory which included the Radioactive.fm #1 song of 2019 Must Be Lucky.

ESP (Telepathy) was recorded with James Goldsmith (Mermaidens) at Lee Prebble’s Surgery Studios in a bid to capture the band’s signature live energy on record. Lead vocalist Luke Courtney comments on the process

“I can’t speak highly enough of James. I don’t think he’d made a heap of records similar to what we wanted to do but he’s such a professional; he turned our vision into reality. It’s a song that you can really move to – that was one of the changes we wanted to make this time. We’ve also brought the full band onto the recording, and the energy that we like to produce at our live shows.

Same Name Confusion have quickly emerged as one of the most exhilarating live acts in New Zealand. Led by Courtney’s off kilter delivery, the band’s theatrical and energetic performances have earnt support slots for Australians Skegss, Lime Cordiale and Spacey Jane as well as appearances at Cubadupa, Cross Street, and Tora Bombora festivals.
