Friday December 2nd

Fresh from packed out shows on their home turf of Waiheke Island, The Waiheke International Soul Orchestra are bringing their electronic/soul/funk/r’n’b sound to the capital to play two shows in early December, kicking things off at Wellington’s dive bar and music venue, Caroline, on Friday 2nd December.

The electronics and beat-driven sound of this truly international collective, also includes three vocalists, bass, guitar and keyboards, resulting in something unique and hard to describe.  Imagine Leftfield and Pitch Black collaborating with Led Zeppelin and Tina Turner to play Funkadelic and Betty Davis songs. However you describe it, once you hear them, you’ll instantly feel like you’re in the groove.

The nine-piece collective promise a high energy “dance your ass off” two-hour show, which will include their popular tracks Rise and People Get Ready, which are currently being played on our very own Radioactive.

Support for the Caroline show is provided by established Wellington DJ B.Lo,  and rock ‘n’ roll quartet The Solomon Cole Band, whose debut album Bruises was described as “one of this year’s best releases” by Mike Alexander (Sunday Star Times).

DJ B.Lo always delivers a night of great music from a multitude of genres. Depending on his mood, you can expect everything from classic soul and funk through to cutting edge cosmic boogie and electronica.

Pre-sale tickets $15.00 from Under The Radar and there will be door sales on the night.
