Terror of the Deep @ Moon

Opening the night are Wellington institution Terror of the Deep, in what will be a warm up show for their performance at Space Place the following weekend. Described by Flavourwire as "one of the 10 Great New Zealand Bands You Should Know", signed to New York label Selection Records and played by John Peel's son on his BBC radio show, come and see for yourself what the fuss is all about.

Up next is Hemi Hemingway, performing a solo set. With the rock’n’roll panache of a dive bar matador and the emotional force of a knife in the guts, Hemi Hemingway makes music that thrills, spills and breaks hearts.

The last band are also the newest band of the evening. Formed in July 2023, Style on Trial are a Pōneke supergroup of sorts, featuring members of Volcana, Kittentank, WintyrQueen and Terror of the Deep.

Cool, Calm & Collected @ The Dowse

On Sunday the 28th @ 2pm, House of Dowse x Jimmy D let acclaimed designer James Dobson of Jimmy D loose in The Dowse collection to curate an exhibition that reflects different aspects of the Jimmy D brand, from photographs of partygoers to multi-coloured knits to ceramic masks.

Take a tour of House of Dowse x Jimmy D with Senior Curator Chelsea Nicholls, followed by a tour of The Dowse’s newly refurbished collection store, led by Collections Manager Jo Wehrly. A major project undertaken in 2023, the new collection store allows The Dowse to safely house our growing collection, and made accessibility to the collection easier for Dobson when he was curating his show.

Open to the public for the first time, see The Dowse’s impressive collection, both on display and behind the scenes.
