And this morning it’s time for another Brain Food for Breakfast segment, where every fortnight on a Monday I am joined by a PHF science expert from Aotearoa to unpack the science behind the headlines in public health and forensic science exploring the innovation that has helped protect our communities for 100 years and counting.

For this episode I am joined by Dr Lauren Jelley, who is a Technical Lead of PHF Science’s Clinical Virology Laboratory and a recent PhD graduate from the University of Otago.

Lauren’s research focuses on how respiratory viruses such as influenza and RSV enter New Zealand, spread through communities and move between people within households.
