Suena Oro are a te reo Maori/Spanish language fusion band from Whakatu. Their original songs explore folk, reggae and afro-beat genres, all pulled through the lens of pyschedelic experimentation. Taonga puoro and tikanga Maori are at the centre of their experience. Their songs are vehicles for political expression (kaupapa Maori, pro-Palestine) or otherwise embody humanist perspectives, revelling in the warmth of human connection.
