Goya Live at The Dowse with RadioActive
Wellington noise-punks Goya take their name from 19th century Spanish painter, Francisco Goya, whose dark imaginative work spanned romanticism, madness and the horrors of war. Goya’s lyrics take aim at the inherent social-pathology of our consumerist lives in the final days of a dying a capitalist system.
Blood is Thicker pairs the heavy metal-inspired works of rocker artist Jason Greig with the darkly sublime works of old masters, including several pieces by Francisco Goya. Creating the effect of a séance across time, with themes of art, music, social criticisms, darkness and chaos, this exhibition provides the perfect backdrop for a live performance in the gallery by Goya.
Join us to hear from curators Chelsea Nichols and Aaron Lister, followed by the live performance by Goya, which will be broadcast live by RadioActive.FM.
Friday the 10th of April, 3-4pm. Free Entry with RSVP appreciated through eventbrite.co.nz
