Shellington season is in effect! Following the success of last month's Warehouse Rave featuring Coki, Ghost Media are bringing the heat to Meow for the first time, and they've got a treat in store for us! This time it's a blockbuster double header featuring ROHAAN & ENIGMA DUBZ, with support from local legends Pulse and Barbwyre.

This will be the first time either of these artists has been to Aoteaora, and Ghost Media is honored to be bringing their sounds together for this one-off showcase of global club music. Expect top notch production and a broad spectrum of sound, showcasing elements of dubstep, drum n bass, baile funk, jungle and more.

Completing the lineup are two of our favourite local selectors warming things up - leftfield bass maestro PULSE and supreme dubstep selectress BARBWYRE. Both of these artists have been killing it on the global touring circuit all year, and vibes are expected to be extremely high at Meow.

Every month we showcase four of our amazing songwriters and celebrate the rich culture and depth of talent we have in Aotearoa.

This month our four great acts are Adoneye, Ali Whitton, The Brooklyns and Zach Newton.

Ras Stone the creator of the ever popular Afro Delight Show is a multi talented vocalist, percussionist and a radio host. He is also a Selecta, drinks & food maker and a software tester who is originally from Nima-Accra Ghana, West Africa, now based in Wellington, New Zealand.

He is known for his tasty music selection as well as a Mic magician with his conscious lyrics and unique singjay roots style on various genres of music, ranging from reggae to dancehall, dubstep to electronica.

Te Kāhui Whaihanga are bringing together an incredible panel with Green MP Tamatha Paul, Reverend Murray Eldridge of the City Mission, community worker Tui Dunlop, and architect and urban planner Amanda Bulman for a conversation about the spaces we share and those we overlook.

The discussion will explore the structural issues that contribute to homelessness, and the kinds of spaces and facilities that are currently missing in our city. It will consider how public and private environments might better support people who are vulnerable or disconnected, and how accessible, safe spaces can be more deeply embedded into our shared infrastructure.

Join te Kāhui Whaihanga at Te Wharewaka O Poneke in the Mākaro room on the 17th of November for a thoughtful evening on how cities can be designed to include everyone.

Panel discussion and Q&A will kick off from 6:00pm with drinks and nibbles to follow at 7:00pm

Loop are proud to announce that Rhian Sheehan and Arli Liberman will bring their collaborative album Traces to life for the first time ever, with a three-show tour this November. 

This tour marks the long-awaited debut live performance of Traces, an instrumental journey blending electronic, ambient and post-rock soundscapes to create a world unlike anything else.

On Friday the 21st of November, this duo will be performing at Massey University's Great Hall - head to undertheradar.co.nz for tickets.

Following a significant year-to-date, Wellington’s Dropper are set to celebrate the release of their debut album Be a Little Kinder with a hometown show at Meow on Friday, November 21st.

They’ll be joined by the consistently impressive Mudgoose and a rising musical force from Tāmaki Makarau, George Barney Roberts.

Having shared stages this year with international acts like Wunderhorse, The Lemonheads, and shame, Dropper have earned a reputation as “relentless performers, high energy, flawlessly tight, and emotionally compelling.” As one fan put it, “Dropper may just sound like the future of New Zealand guitar music, not because they’re reinventing it, but because they believe in it.”

Wellington Museum presents Fat Freddy’s Drop: Based On A True Story, The 20th Anniversary Exhibition.

In 2005, the studio album changed the sound of Aotearoa. Based On A True Story by Fat Freddy’s Drop went straight to number one and became the longest-charting album in New Zealand history. Each track was born from live, improvised jams, tested on stages around the world, and recorded in a Lyall Bay basement studio known as The Beach.

Now, 20 years on, Wellington Museum is celebrating the story behind the sound in partnership with the band.

Wellington’s legendary sludge-metal powerhouse Beastwars return with thunderous force, announcing the release of their highly anticipated new album, “The Ship // Sea”, out Friday, November 7, 2025.

To mark the occasion, Beastwars will unleash the new record live with an Australia/New Zealand tour including a huge release show at Meow Nui on Saturday, November 22, 2025. This will be the band's first hometown show in over a year and promises to be a crushing, cathartic celebration of both old and new material.
