Tāmaki Makaurau dream pop quartet Phoebe Rings have just released their luminous debut album ‘Aseurai’ (Us-er-rae), a rich, collaborative body of work shaped by the band’s four members.
With past lives in acts such as Princess Chelsea, Fazerdaze and Tiny Ruins, together they bring textured, playful, and tender songwriting to the new album. From musings on gentrification to heartfelt Korean lyrics, Aseurai threads nostalgia and longing with shimmering pop, and today on Parakuihi Sunaina is joined by Simeon (sim-e-un) Kavanagh-Vincent.
