He went by many names, here at RadioActive we knew him best as DJ MU, you may have known him by Chris or Fitchie. A true pillar of the community here in Pōneke and beloved all across Aotearoa and beyond.
Starting his Active journey as a fresh-faced uni student creating ads for the airwaves his talent for music flowed through from Roots Foundation, to Bong Master, to Fat Freddy’s Drop. Mu helped shape the sound of New Zealand Reggae, his impact and influence on music was both transformative and enduring.
He was instrumental in putting RadioActive’s Roots & Culture show on the map, and we will deeply miss hearing his eclectic selections fill the airwaves.
Sending arohanui to all of Mu’s family and friends during these tough times. Gone but never forgotten.
